Specialty curriculum

The postgraduate training curriculum for GP, as approved by the GMC, is available here.

Length of training

Under the MMC revised curriculum for GP training, the indicative length of training is 3 years of run through training. Doctors are not able to undertake GP training outside this approved training scheme. The only other route of entry is  to achieve GMC approval via Article 11.

Training pathway

Trainees can enter general practice training at ST1 level.*

Qualifications

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
