There is information on the Foundation
Programme, Specialty Training,
Fixed Term Specialty Appointments and the new
grade of Specialty Doctor that is included in the

Modernising Medical Careers (MMC) introduced a
new system of recruitment and training for medical professionals.
2005 saw the introduction of the two year Foundation Programme
(FP) and Specialty Training (ST) in 2007.
MMC was established to provide a clear
and structured career path for doctors.
