Medical Careers are now recruiting for a focus group

medical careers focus group

The NHS medical careers website is managed by KSS Deanery on behalf of the Department of Health.

Our mission

That any medical student, doctor in training, or provider of careers support who has a careers question relating to working as a doctor will go to this website first.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for medical students and postgraduate doctors (including foundation and specialty trainees) in order to join a focus group that will discuss the content and proposed future plans for the website. We would like a balanced representation from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. What we really require is some honest feedback about the site.

What will I be geting involved in?

We wish to arrange twice yearly focus group meetings to be held in London. We will pay for any reasonable transport costs for attending these meetings. The meetings of the focus group will be the main commitment, although we may also request your help in writing case-studies, getting involved with recording podcasts and videos etc.

Why should I get involved?

  • It will be an opportunity to meet up with other medical students and trainees
  • You have the chance to get involved with lively debate
  • To enhance your presentation skills
  • You can hear the opinions of others and share your own views
  • You will have the possibility to develop your skills
  • To help by being a part of our team
  • You will recieve a certificate of attendance
  • It will look good on your CV
  • You can make a difference!

To take part:

Send an email to careers@kssdeanery.ac.uk stating the stage you are at in medical school or in your training, the area of the country you live in and a short paragraph (100– 150 words) on why you would like to become involved in the focus group.
