We have a place for those who are CONSIDERING MEDICINE as a career and here you will find out what to expect, what to consider and how to start on the road to fulfilling your ambition of becoming a doctor.

For MEDICAL STUDENTS we have guides to enable you make the most of your studies and to start preparing you for the various stages that lie ahead as you move from study to working as a Doctor. We encourage you to consider a logical approach to career plans and to be ready for the stages and decisions ahead.

Our section for POSTGRADUATE DOCTORS contains all you will need to know about successfully completing the foundation programme and progressing onto Specialty or GP training.

The SPECIALTY PAGES contain detailed information on over 60 specialties with information broken down into career overview, personal characteristics, training pathways, workforce statistics that look at the likelihood of success and demand in a chosen field as well as direct links to further reading and useful resources. All this information is provided by the Medical Royal Colleges and is checked frequently to ensure it is the most current information available.

We also have information and materials for TRAINERS and CAREER SPECIALISTS  in their specialist roles.

Our free to use online CAREER PLANNING TOOLS are there to help you in coming to well informed and realistic decisions about your medical career. This will enable you to carry out a structured 4 STAGE PLANNING APPROACH  to your career.

To use this section you simply need to REGISTER on the secure pages. There are real advantages to registering and it is quick and easy to do. It enables us to alert you to important news - targeted at specific users. For example - we alerted F2 doctors when the specialty recruitment timeline was first available and also to vital date changes as they occurred.

To receive updates you do need to register. Our site is secure and data is kept private. If you keep your details up to date we guarantee only to send you information that is relevant to you at your current stage of training.

You can opt out of updates at any stage – but if you do then you may miss out on information that you would find very useful.
